Description: RIEGO, irrigation in Spanish, is a solar powered agricultural irrigation device that automates the irrigation schedule by retrofitting to the existing irrigation network. It optimizes the water consumption through the continuous monitoring of several parameters such as the weather, the soil, the tree’s growth, the water and the concentration of fertilizer. Equipped with sensors and a smart algorithm, RIEGO has the ability to dynamically change the irrigation schedule based on the data it collects and stores. RIEGO allows them to reduce water consumption, giving crops the specific amount they need, which infers a further reduction in energy, fertilizers consumption, and CO2 emissions.

Description: The handmade kilim industry which is one of Egypt’s heritage crafts was dying. Craftsmen with no formal design backgrounds designed, selected colors and materials themselves, making their final product less sell-able in contemporary homes. We partnered up with local craftsmen in Fowwa and went on to found Kiliim, an online store and lifestyle brand that aims to revive and sustain the heritage of handmade kilim making by offering our customers traditionally crafted kilim products yet designed with modern motifs and colors to suit contemporary homes.

Mind Rockets developed the technology to interpret text/speech to sign language using animated avatars. The technology is for both, individuals to use through mobile applications, and for businesses, where Mind Rockets designs systems based on the technology to make available the organization’s services and content. This is done by opening a communication and accessibility channel to deliver the organization’s content in sign language using customizable avatars.

With a global vehicle occupancy rate of 1.4 persons per vehicle, most of the cars on the road at any point in time are transporting just one person! Carpolo is a platform that promotes carpooling between community members using a mobile app and analytic tools. Carpolo will become the search engine for unused car space by enabling users to share their empty car seats through a gamified incentive system. Carpolo increases car occupancy rates by matching drivers with empty car seats and passengers heading in the same direction.

Description: Just by growing up in modern society, our kids are being trained to become voracious consumers. They are bombarded with countless hours of advertisements on television, websites, and mobile phones and apps. As mother of 3 I wanted to change this reality. I founded in 2014 Spica Tech academy, to teach kids and teens game design, development and arts, through applied project-based learning, Kids’ lives where changing since. But to be able to reach all kids, I’m creating an online platform where courses are available in Arabic, French and English. Courses will be gamified, and easy for kids to learn without help. And what make us unique, kids can publish their products on our portal to share it with the world. We are changing kids and teens from digital consumers to guises independent producers.
