Arab Startup Competition Seventh Edition 2014: Ideas Track - 2nd Runner Up
In Brief, The idea is to build a revolutionary wearable device that will provide a convenient means of communication to the hearing impaired population around the world. It consists of 2 wearable devices, an Optical (Head-Up Display) Glasses and a Hands-Free Wearable Controller in the shape and size of a ring. This not only gives the hearing-impaired population the ability to understand sounds around them, but also gives them the ability to speak (Most of them suffer from double disability deaf and mute). That"s through a technology we developed which allows them to "See The Sounds” by translating the sound waves into a combination of 4 visual methods that are projected to the user through the transparent screen of the (Heads-Up Display) glasses and by vibrations felt by the skin through the wearable controller. As a result, the deaf will be able to interact with voices and sounds, using other senses to understand the sounds without hearing them. As the user will be able to "see" the sounds through the glasses, and “feel” and even control it through their skin using the ring. To sum up, the idea is a new thinking of a solution for the deaf people, that is based in the wearable technology, which is completely safe, has no side effects, reliable, and doesn’t require surgery or a special training and more importantly, comes at an affordable price.
